Thank you to the nearly 500 people who filled out our survey about the 2027-28 Academic Calendar. We’ve taken your feedback to createÂ
a revised calendar draft, which will be presented to the Board for first review on November 5. Click on the image above for a PDF that is translatable and ADA accessible.
After reviewing the new draft, please fill out the short feedback form on this post. The form may be found at either the top or bottom of the post, depending on whether you are viewing on mobile or desktop. Feedback is due by Wednesday, November 4.
What has stayed the same from the previous draft:
- We’ve maintained 180 school days, returning to a pre-pandemic schedule to support academic achievement.Â
- We are continuing to work with Albemarle as they draft their 2027-28 calendar to align our calendars as closely as possible, which we heard in the survey is a community priority.Â
Major changes reflected in this draft:
- Both Mental Wellness days are now on Mondays.
- The school closure on Tuesday, March 7 (an Election Day for the presidential primary) is now paired with a school closure on Monday, March 6 (Mental Wellness Day) so that there isn’t an isolated day off in the middle of the week. To accommodate this change, Presidents Day will now be designated as a professional learning day.
